Join Halesworth Bookshop for an exciting weekend at FolkEast festival! 

For the third year running, we are thrilled to be hosting the literary Librarium tent at the Glemham Hall estate from Friday, August 16th to Sunday, August 18th. Our lineup features a fantastic array of authors and speakers, spanning children's and adult non-fiction and fiction genres. We can't wait to have you join us for this literary extravaganza! For the little book lovers, we have three exciting children's events lined up at the Librium tent. Meet Marjoke Henrichs, James, Toto, and Kate Wolf as they share their captivating stories. The fun begins at 10:30 am each morning, so don't miss out! We have three fantastic authors, taking the main stage in the woods at 11am each day. On Friday, meet Harriet Constable as she discusses her newly published title 'The Instrumentalist'. Saturday brings Patrick Barkham to the stage. Patrick will engage us with talk of his bestselling book "The Swimmer," A biography of Roger Deakin. Jake Fiennes on Sunday, led in conversation by 'Richard Hawking' (Friend of Halesworth Bookshop) mostly known for his work of Adrian Bell. Sharing insights from Jake's book "Land Healer." 

 

In the Bookshop Tent we have Jack Cornish and James Canton, talking about their books ‘Lost Paths’ and ‘Grounded’ on Friday at 1pm - Ben Tufnell discussing his book, The North Shore at 3pm. Our Saturday speaker at 1pm is Robert Ashton discussing his book ‘Where are the Fellows that cut the Hay’. Then we have Matt Gaw with us talking about his weather book ‘In All Weathers’. At 6pm there is an extra treat - a panel of female authors, Polly Crosby, Kate Sawyer, Sarah Hardy, Margaret Meyer and Saskia Sarginson, with local connections who were with us last year at FolkEast. They will be on the sofa discussing their many books and literary projects one year on. Sunday at 1pm Tom Kitching will be telling us all about his book ‘Where There’s Brass’ A love story for English waterways and then to finalise our fantastic weekend we have a crime panel - three current crime writing authors Lesley Kara, JM Hewitt and Phoebe Morgan will be on the sofa discussing their work with local, self-published crime writer, Lin Le Versha.
